Laboratory Setup Guide

From site planning to equipment configuration, SENO Biotech provides a complete solution for setting up an avian genetic testing laboratory.

Laboratory functional zones

A molecular testing laboratory must follow the "one-way flow" principle, so that amplification products cannot flow back and contaminate reagents and samples.

1

Reagent preparation area

Reagent Preparation

PCR reaction mixes are prepared here, so the area must stay highly clean to avoid nucleic-acid contamination. Equipped with a clean bench, pipettes and a low-temperature refrigerator.

2

Sample processing area

Sample Processing

Sample receipt and nucleic acid extraction. Equipped with a biological safety cabinet, automated nucleic acid extractor and centrifuge, with careful control of cross-contamination between samples.

3

Amplification area

Amplification

PCR/qPCR amplification reactions are run here. Equipped with a real-time quantitative PCR instrument and a conventional PCR instrument, with strict control of aerosol contamination.

4

Product analysis area

Analysis

Electrophoresis, typing and result analysis. Equipped with an electrophoresis unit, gel imaging system, genetic analyser and data-analysis workstation.

Setup workflow

①

Needs assessment

Clarify the tests to be offered, the sample types and the throughput required.

②

Site planning

Plan the laboratory layout and airflow direction according to the zoning principle.

③

Equipment configuration

Configure the core instruments and consumables for the tests to be offered.

④

System building

Establish SOPs, a quality-control system and biosafety rules.

⑤

Staff training

Operation training and competency assessment before staff work independently.

⑥

Acceptance and operation

Trial run, method validation and formal start of production.
