Pigeon trichomonad
Pathogen DetectionA PCR assay designed for pigeon trichomonad (PiTG). Trichomonads are a common cause of canker (yellow button disease) in racing pigeons; molecular detection of trichomonad nucleic acid is more sensitive than conventional microscopy and suits early screening.
Specific primers and probes are designed against conserved pathogen regions to reduce non-specific amplification.
Fluorescent probe chemistry is sensitive enough to detect low-copy-number nucleic acid.
A built-in dUTP/UNG system removes false positives caused by residual PCR aerosol.
Supplied with internal-control quality checks to support confidence in the process and the result.
